Intoxilyzer Operator Certification Requirements
In order to obtain an Intoxilyzer Operator certification, the following requirements must be met:
- Successful completion of Intoxilyzer Operator Course
- 80% or higher to pass the certification exam administered online
In order to maintain an Intoxilyzer Operator
certification, the following requirements must be met:
Certification active or lapsed no more than one
year?
- 80% or higher to pass the certification exam administered online
Certification lapsed more than one year?
- Successful completion of Intoxilyzer Operator Refresher Course
- 80% or higher to pass the certification exam administered online

Attending the Intoxilyzer Operator Certification Course
Officers attending a Intoxilyzer or Intoxilyzer Refresher course will need to follow the steps below:
- Register for course from your POST Portal. You may have to request your training coordinator to enroll you from their Portal.
- Attend training in its entirety
- Obtain test code from instructor
- Within 7 days, go to test site and take the exam:(https://portal.post.utah.gov/AcadisViewer/automatedtesting/login.aspx)
- Within 1 day of passing your exam your certification will be issued and can be printed from the POST Acadis Portal
- If you do not pass the exam email support@utahpost.org for a retake.
Recertifying Intoxilyzer Operator Certification Online
Officers who are currently certified or lapsed no more than 1 year can re-certify online following the steps below:
- Email support@utahpost.org requesting access to training materials and exam code. Please provide your full name and agency.
- You will receive a response with info to review training materials including instructions how to take the exam.
- Within 7 days, go to the test site and take the exam.
- Within 1 day of passing your exam your certification will be issued and can be printed from the POST Acadis Portal.
- If you do not pass the exam email support@utahpost.org to obtain retake information. Only one retake is permitted. If you fail your second attempt, you must attend a four hour refresher course and pass the exam in order to renew your Intoxilyzer Operator Certification.
Officers who have let the certification lapse more than 1 year are not eligible for online recertification. Attendance in a class is necessary to reactivate certification.
