Applicant Background Investigation Information

Following are the steps necessary to access and view Applicant Background Investigation information from POST-

To view an application or training records

Please call 801-256-2300 or email support@utahpost.org
to schedule in-person or remote access to application information.
*Please allow 2 business days for the request.
*Note: If access to POST academy peer evaluations are needed, please allow two business days advanced notice. If access to POST satellite academy peer evaluations are needed, contact the satellite academy directly.

and request to speak with a POST Investigator.
*Note: Requester must have a copy of the notarized Authorization to Release and a GRAMA request with the subjects name in the “Description of Records Sought” section.

Backgrounds are conducted Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., the last appointment is at 4:00 p.m. with an end time no later than 5:00 p.m.

Information on the National Decertification Index

The National Decertification Index (NDI) is a national registry of certificate or license revocation actions related to officer misconduct as reported by participating state government agencies.

and request to speak with a POST Investigator.

go to https://www.iadlest.org/ and click on the “NDI” tab. If you do not have access to NDI, then click on “Request access to the NDI” and fill out the form. After you have submitted the form, email Director Travis Rees at tgrees@utah.gov and let him know you would like access.
