In-Service Training – K-9 Program
General Information:
The K-9 Program provides training and POST certification for Patrol, Narcotics, Cadaver, Explosives, SWAT, Search/Rescue, or Tracking/Trailing Dogs. Training and certification standards are Reality -Based. Handlers, Instructors, and Judges are trained simultaneously within each scheduled course. Handler, Instructor, or Judge certifications are offered. Courses are 8 weeks in duration. Dormitory rooms and an on-site kennel are available. No tuition is required for Utah officers. Out-of-state officers pay a fee of $4,500 per course.

K9 Manager Course: January 4 & 5, 2027
Patrol Dog: January 25, 2027 – March 4, 2027: July 12, 2027 – September 2, 202
Detector Dog: October 19 2026 – December 3, 2026: April 19, 2027 – June 10, 2027: October 18, 2027 – December 9, 2027
SWAT Dog:
Tracking Class: March 22, 2027, – April 16, 2027
